Oct. 29th, 2006 09:55 pmI have a little over three weeks to write two 5,000 word essays and yet somehow, I am not panicking. This leaves me completely baffled, as logic tells me I should be.
Well, I AM panicking, but the panicky part is running around a twenty by twenty concrete room locked somewhere in my brain. I do not know how I gained this ability.
I did manage to have a few tv breaks, of sorts.
The night before my thesis was due (what? I totally needed it!) we watched "Stormy Night," a v. disturbing children's anime about the love affair of a goat and a wolf. I kid you not. *ducks tomatoes* The most serious obstacles to their relationship are emphasized when the wolf gazes into the goat's swaying hindquarters or the goat curled up asleep and thinks about how "delicious" he is and then salivates. And they abandon their pack/herd and run off into into wide world yonder, and the film ends with the two of them snuggling together under the moonlight. I'm sure it's perfectly sweet and adorable to little kids but it's a whole new level of dodgy when you're in your twenties and have been reading slash fic for quite a while. .)
Night AFTER thesis was finished: Cold Mountain! Just the movie after turning in 12,000 word monster and help scrub wierdness of wolf/goat OTP the night before. <3 Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in period costume---even though cannot understand *how* they managed to get a daughter with red hair.
