The DVD was free, Ok? AND IT WAS ALL BRIONY'S IDEA.

So. I loathed the movie as much I thought it would (James Cameron's thesis apparently being that if only all the colonized peoples of the world had somehow got together with their local wildlife, and found a Straight White Messiah then none of us would be having the problems that we do. 8} But...surprisingly, we did find things to talk about, and that there were things we liked about it.)

And there was Zoe. <3

-Zoe <3 <3 <3

-Zoe bitch slapping Straight White Messiah <3 <3 <3 <3

-Zoe and her family when she brings Jake home. "Sweetie, you've convinced us not to kill the puppy. Now YOU look after him." Zoe: *&*&^*&^*&^*&@$#@$#%!!!!!

-Pandora's (?) local flora and fauna are v. pretty. My Little Alien Ponies!!!!

-The Eywa seedlings and the glowy trees. Pretty pretty pretty. Want want want.

-The Pandorans' ability to connect to make neural connections with the local fauna and flaura. Guys. That is an awesome idea. Now if only James Cameron wasn't the one using it, and if only it wasn't a device to reinforce the "natives are totes connected with nature stereotype."

-Also, because it is James Cameron? Even though he's making this world where fauna and flaura and anthropoid life form are *connected,* there's still a hierarchy, and there's no question as to who is in charge and who gets to eat who.

-Or *force* who into a ZOMG! spiritual connection. Poor bird. Especially after Straight White Messiah decides he's not good enough and goes to cheat on him with Bigger Bird.

-Briony: why is it that they're cyberpunking with everything except each other? Is it a dominant/submissive thing based on the animal/plant kingdom hierarchy? Why is it this does not apply to sex?
Me: James Cameron does not want viewers to see Zoe domming Jake. Sadface, me.

-The only moment in the film that made me awww. Zoe cradling Jake in human form. What was wrong with writing that romance, James Cameron?

-I am still banging my heads over "Unobtanium." Apparently, many years in the future, the US educational system will have degenerated so badly that even their top-notch corporate scientists will be unable to give an appropriate name to a precious element

-So in conclusion. We have watched Avatar. That is two hours of my life I will never get back but that is ok. I spent it snuggling up to my Briar.

And watching Zoe.
