Friends, Unite
Feb. 13th, 2004 07:25 amMet up with Jan last night ((happy =)) Now I demand that I see the rest of you before I leave. Which is on the 26th. Which is sooner than I'd like. All who know me, COME TO MY HOUSE. This is a command from the future ruler of the known world. (epithet stolen from Jan. Which I'm sure she stole from someone else.) She does know all of you have school, however, and is lenient enough to suggest Friday next week, and is still open to suggestions for a date when all of you are free.
As for Jan: I regret to say that the Powers That Be will not permit me to strike down the participants and producers of "Idol." Apparently, the gods like cheesey television; as it gives them the chance to improve their smiting skills on the tv, and justification for inflicting suffering on the mortal world. I can, however, provide a bit of good ol' fashioned fanfiction and yaoi, respectively:
Altariel's A Game of Chess

and Dwimordene's

Kae, I'm not sure if you'll like the last one. It IS Boromir slash, but it's not Aragorn/Boromir. The pairing is...unusual to say the least, and I'm not sure if this will squick you or not. That said, it IS a beautifully written work, and I'm not saying this just because I adore the other half of the pairing. This is the only story of this pairing that I've read (and quite possibly, the only one I will EVER read)Dwimordene handles a delicate subject matter gracefully.
And Chris, I know you don't like slash. But thou MUST read Game of Chess. It is not slash, and it is beautifully written pathos. So you must go look. Future ruler of the world demands it (unless Jan stole that epithet from you, in which case...)
What am I babbling about? Just go read 'em dammit!
