Home again home again jigetty jig
Nov. 28th, 2007 08:11 pmAm home! In Manila! *waves at everybody.* And I find that Neil Gaiman has come and gone (Oh, whiskey tango), that my Dad is merrily tripsing through sheep country in New Zealand, and that my Mother and Grandmother, true to form, had worried themselves sick when it was discovered that my flight was delayed and that I would be leaving the HK airport a lot later than was expected (As in, FOUR hours later. Do you not have faith in my survival skills, oh matriarchs of my family that I can survive in an airport for that long?)Alas poor Martin. Getting at up an ungodly hour and then the two of us getting there and finding out we did not have to after all. *v. embarassed*
So plans for the holiday: I am running my own NaNo and am writing my monster of a novel, and if I can't finish it, I can at least have it mostly done for editing and drafting, and write short stories on the side. I got 2,500 words of drafting and new segments done today, and am getting up early tomorrow to do the same. And am nosing around for resources for possible PHD on the ethnic Chinese in SE Asia, then making my goddamn mind about English or History PHD and getting my life in hand. *insert determined mood icon here* I've---kinda added the City as a narrator, and changed the POV of some segments into first person plural. Which is cool---but I'm headesking a little at having to rewrite significant chunks of my first few chapters at the risk of this not working very well at all. *bites fingers*
Any Pinoy friends around who would like to catch up? *bats eyes*
