Sep. 13th, 2004 09:35 amTHAT. Was the longest meeting in the history of meetings.
Never mind that it's mid-semester, and we've all got assesments due this week. No. Nooooooooo. Submitted apologies on academic grounds simply don't slide. Most of them (including that of yours truly) were ignored, and we were all forced to go and attend the General Meeting just so we could vote in our new student council, and never mind that there are better ways of doing this (ballots, anyone?) Does it matter that we were all squished into the JCR for a freakin' FIVE hours, five hour which we could have spent studying/writing essays/working on presentations? Of course not.
To aggravate things, tried talking to head tutor to beg for new English tutor next year, as this one simply doesn't cut it. For god's sakes. It turns out he *didn't* say they couldn't check our papers over anymore. Unfortunately, he talked to her, she accosted me, and asked if there was anything she should have done that she didn't do. Placed on the spot, I said something about having would have liked more discussion on theory and argument, w/c is true, it's just that something she CAN'T FREAKIN DO. I now feel cruel, mean, and incredibly worried that head tutor may not be taking my claims SERIOUSLY.
For god's sake. Calling tolkien Christian parody is the equivalent of a med tutor misdiagnosing a pregnancy for a malign tumor. *-* Am going back to Frank again. Am making sure he knows about Tolkien incident and why this is such a big concern.
