May. 15th, 2004 10:12 amJust saw Troy last night. (which I can ill afford---but a friend who's moved out of the dorm grabbed me and made me go, since she's leaving next semester) I have to say, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, especially when I read what they were planning to do to Paris' character (i.e., characterize him as a "spoiled brat") But Orlando's performance was surprisingly sympathetic. He's more naive, for me, than simply selfish. And I do believe he grows up quite a bit toward the end of the film.
( And can anyone catch a whiff of anti war sentiment in this Hollywood epic)?
Things going for the film: Eric Bana, Sean Bean, Orlando, Brad even, if you pair him up with Sean or his cousin. :)
Things not going for it: Quite a few deriviations from the original text. ;p

Grover on Ecstasy
You're funny, you're loveable, you're entertaining,
you like to call yourself "Super
Grover!"--You're obviously on ecstasy.
But that's why we love you. Be careful, ok?
