Although everything's alright now, I had a rather...disconcerting experience last Saturday.

Suffice to say, my parent argued. And while it did not reach the level of slammed doors and raised voices, they were pissed enough at each other that it sent all good-natured creatures (Namely me)scrambling for cover.

I'm even more disturbed, because it was over the most *ridiculous* thing. Dad took me out to lunch, Mum was going to meet us at the the theater so the two of us could watch Cold Mountain (Dad wasn't interested). The thing was, they both had a wedding reception to go to, and Dad was worried because Mom chose a time when the movie would have ended a little late. Thus cutting a little short the time they had to get ready and race to the wedding. So all throughout lunch, he tried calling her phone, and when Mum finally came, he pointed out this problem and asked if we could see the movie tomorrow instead. Which I didn't have a problem with. But Mom, even though she didn't say anything, was...pissed. after a while, she shortly told my dad and me that she'd go ahead and meet us at home and left. Of course, Dad was upset that she was upset...

And as for me, this is the first time I've ever seen my parents throughly pissed at each other. Yes, logically, I know they must have argued before during their marriage. But it's so unlike my mom to annoyed over so small a thing, and so unlike my folks to upset at each at all, that up to know, it *still* bothers me. Hence the rant all of you have been inflicted with. >.< Sorry folks...

Ever had to see your folks upset with each other? ;?

You're a literary minded as the Bard himself!
You are a complete literary geek, from knowing the
classics (even the not-so-well-known classics
and tidbits about them) to knowing devices used
in writing, when someone has a question about
literature, they can bring it to you and rest
assured; you know the answers.

How much of a literary geek are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Cheers...^-^

...it is screaming out at you from a well beloved Victorian classic. And no, it ain't Oscar Wilde's. o.O Specifically, it's Bram Stoker's *Dracula*...

*Is met with looks of disbelief*

What, you don't believe me?! LOOK!! *LOOK,* I SAY!!!!!!!!!!

(Excerpts taken from Jonathan Harker's Journal:)

"Then the Count turned, after looking at *my* face attentively and said in a soft whisper; 'Yes, I too can love; you yourselves can tell it from the past. Is it not so?'

and as if that were not all:

"I awoke in my own bed. If it be that I have not dreamt, the Count must have carried me here. (so much for picture of leering vampire carrying unconsious young maiden in his powerful arms)...if it was the Count that carried me here and undressed me... "

(of course, Jonathan's narrative doesn't continue that line of thought. But still...)

And for a coup de grace, when the Count orchestrates a show of power and intimidation, and *throughly* impresses on Jonathan that he has no intention of letting him leave...

"The last I saw of Count Dracula was his kissing his hand to me, with a red light of triumph in his eyes..."

This is entirely *Jan's* fault. *whacks evil friend in question.* Is *hers* I swears! I will never be able to get through a paragraph without looking for erotic subtext now!

Although slashy thoughts of Jonathan and the Count *is* quite nice...
